Vision AfriKa Christmas Lunch Fosters Sense of Shared Purpose

Team-building and acknowledging a sense of shared purpose are important for any group of co-workers – and what better way to foster them than through a staff Christmas party.

Vision AfriKa’s annual event took place at the end of last year at The Schoongezicht Restaurant in Paarl, which is famous locally for its excellent buffet and grill.

After arriving in convoy accompanied by much singing of songs, the educational development NGO’s 26 employees were ushered into a large barn that, with its beautiful chandeliers, was a charming mixture of rustic and elegant.

Operations director Gerrit Laning opened the proceedings by thanking all of the staff for a great year and expressing his belief that the next one would be just as successful.

Emotions ran high as everyone clapped and a few tears fell, before the team proceeded to the long tables to eat an exquisite lunch, share stories and a lot of laughter.

After the meal was over, a round of photographs were taken and hugs exchanged, before staff got back on their buses once more and sang joyful, happy songs all the way home.
