Vision AfriKa celebrated the hard work of its Grade 1 learners over the last year by hosting a prize-giving evening at the end of November.
The event, which was held at the Ikhaya Trust Centre in the Kayamandi township, started with a slide show as the parents arrived. It showed the students’ achievements over the last 12 months, which included laying out and planting a garden, as well as the highlights of various outings.The following learners then received certificates for:

After the prize-giving ceremony, the learners entertained their guests by reciting Psalm 23 – “the Lord is my Shepherd” – followed by the Lord’s Prayer. The song “Bear Necessities” was next on the list, while the finale took the form of the popular “Igqirha lendlele” (the click song).
