Vision AfriKa hosts prize-giving event to celebrate Vision 1s’ hard work

Vision AfriKa celebrated the hard work of its Grade 1 learners over the last year by hosting a prize-giving evening at the end of November.

Vision AfrIka prize giving ceremonyThe event, which was held at the Ikhaya Trust Centre in the Kayamandi township, started with a slide show as the parents arrived. It showed the students’ achievements over the last 12 months, which included laying out and planting a garden, as well as the highlights of various outings.The following learners then received certificates for:

Academic Achi evement

Akhanya Mtwazi, Kelelo Damane, Konaye Shenxane, Masamkele Tonyela, Mbalentle Lupondo, Milhali Mbambalala, Simamkele Luphalule, Sinovuyo Ponoyi, Thabile Lupondo and Yonela Mnayingiza. 

Artistic Performance: Achuma Fuma

 

Merit for Progress in English: Anesu Zhou, Ashura Niyonzima, Calton Bako and Lwandile Bokwe

 

Merit for Achievement in IsiXhosa: Endinaye Fiyani 

 

Merit for Progress in Speaking English: Likhanye Ncedana 
Merit for Achievement in Maths: Sinalo Ntise  Merit for Progress in Maths: Inathi Simayile and Kuhle Xhanti 
Merit for Art: Chelsy Nyandoro Neat Handwriting and Courteousness: Njabulo Booysen 
Merit for Conscientiousness: Njabulo Katlego Setona  Merit for Progress: Amahle Batweni and Endinako Tutu
Merit for Perseverance: Uluthando Mjali   

After the prize-giving ceremony, the learners entertained their guests by reciting Psalm 23 – “the Lord is my Shepherd” – followed by the Lord’s Prayer. The song “Bear Necessities” was next on the list, while the finale took the form of the popular “Igqirha lendlele” (the click song).
